Minutes of the Old Lyme Economic Development Commission of the Meeting of 6/3/15
Meeting commenced at 8 AM in the Old Lyme Town Hall. Present were Bob Jose, John Stratton, Joe Camean, Susan Howard, Bill O’Meara and Heather Gagnon. Also present were guests Bonnie Reemsnyder and Jean Davies (River COG).
We discussed the following topics:
1. Real estate news from last month showed 132 units for sale, of those, 24 under contract, 14 are over $1MM and 32 have closed since beginning of year. Abbreviated discussion to facilitate the guest speaker, however, statistics showed positive trends for our area.
2.No new news on Soundview development program nor Main Street grant.
3 New news on the bike/hiking trail development showed no real development as contact and information from Amtrak is sparse.
4. Jean Davies from River COG spoke regarding the main objectives of the organization and identified the current projects they are currently undertaking. Projects include GIS study to assist them to develop a regional economic growth strategy for the region as well as choosing Ninigret Partners to provide business and planning development ideas. They currently also publish monthly newsletters for the benefit of their members.
